NYSC issues 8 precautions to corps members in lagos

– The NYSC Director-General, Brig. Gen. Sulaimon Kazaure, has issued a warning to corps members in Lagos

– The warning came barely 72 hours after the kidnap of six pupils at Lagos State Model College

– The DG listed 6 precautionary measures to be taken by the corps members

Brig. Gen. Sulaimon Kazaure, the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps(NYSC), has warned corps members in Lagos state about the importance of being security conscious.

The warning was giving when he visited the Lagos camp, barely 72 hours after six pupils were kidnapped at Lagos State Model College, Igbonla, near Epe, with the abductors demanding N1bn ransom.

On Sunday, May 28, during his visit, the DG also listed 6 warnings to the corps members gathered at the NYSC orientation camp, Iyana Ipaja, Lagos.

He said:

1. Avoid shortcut in anything you do and act gently as corps members.

2. You should avoid sharp practices

3. Understand the dos and don’ts of your host community

4. Avoid unnecessary journeys

6. Never walk alone to obscure places

7. Walk in groups and always be security conscious
